Interfaith Program: Sharing Our Traditions

Interfaith Program: Sharing Our Traditions

For several years Pastors Pam McGrath and Marisa Brown Ludwig and Rabbi Amy Wallk Katz (Temple Beth El) have spoken about bringing our communities together to learn more about our various traditions – last year’s interfaith bible study series “Friends Next Door” was one way we worked together on this with other local faith communities!   This year we have decided to celebrate two Jewish holidays together: Tu B’Shvat and Passover. Most likely, many of us will have heard of Passover, but very few will know about Tu B’Shvat. On Monday February 10 — we will change that! Join us for an interfaith Tu B’Shvat seder here at First Church!

Monday February 10, 2020 @ 7:00pm at First Church: Interfaith Tu B’Shvat Seder

Temple Beth El Joins with First Church in celebrating Tu B’Shvat, or “Jewish Earth Day” which marks the “New Year of the Trees” in the Hebrew calendar. We will enjoy good food (dried fruits, nuts and wine and grape juice), spirited singing with Cantor Martin Levson and meaningful learning all at First Church of Christ in Longmeadow.

SAVE THE DATE:  Tuesday March 31, 2020 @ 7pm at Temple Beth El: Interfaith Passover Seder

On March 31st, Temple Beth El and First Church will celebrate an interfaith Passover Seder as part two of “Sharing our Traditions” – continuing this special sharing in Lent as we move towards Holy Week, held at Temple Beth El in Springfield.
