We Are Fierce!
A Monthly Gathering of Women
Please note: We will meet February 12, 2020 (2nd Wednesday, due to Ash Wednesday schedule conflicts)
When I look around our church, I see women who are working hard to build careers, lives and families. I see women who are hungry for connection to something deeper, a spiritual awakening—that doesn’t require reading a book or learning a new way to do anything. (Who has time for that?) I see women caught between caring for parents and families. I see women who are already FIERCE.
A group of us women are now meeting on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. We gather to claim our strength, vulnerability, sisterhood. We laugh, share, have snacks and maybe some coffee or wine, and breathe deeply—together.
At each meeting, we play a short video about a different FIERCE woman of the Bible—women you might never have heard of, but who are not that different from you. We share about their lives (and ours) in a safe place—a no judgement place.
Hosted by Pastor Pam in the Buxton room.
“It’s become trendy to use the word “fierce” when describing women at the top of their game, but women have been fiercely changing the world for thousands of years. In fact, the Bible tells of many fierce female characters who made hard decisions, offered hope, boldly repented, shared their faith, and blessed those around them. Although some are less well known than others, these women can teach us how we, too, can live into our callings, honor [God], and even change the world through our courage, faithfulness, and obedience.”
