delivered by Rev. Marisa Brown Ludwig on October 8, 2017
Pastor Marisa preaches on the story of the Israelites wandering in the desert after Moses leads them out of slavery in Egypt – but even though they are out of that land, and they have seen God do wondrous things to save them, they are still an oppressed people, hungry, thirsty, and lost. They cry out to God, angry, despairing – “maybe we should go back!” they cry to Moses: “Why did you bring us out of slavery only to let us die in the desert?” God hears and answers, providing but also asking them to trust. No hoarding, no saving – trusting that each day, God will provide. Can they do this? Can we do this?
Pastor Marisa explores with us who are the voices in the wilderness crying out today, where are we crying out, “How Long, O God?” Do we believe that God provides, and if so, how?
