White Privilege: Let’s Talk

White Privilege: Let’s Talk

The White Privilege: Let’s Talk series was held in January & February, 2017.  It was based on a new adult curriculum from the United Church of Christ designed to help us engage in safe, substantive and bold conversations on race.

This curriculum was developed by five leaders of the UCC, including General Minister & President John C. Dorhauer. Please look at the team who have written this curriculum for yourselves and download your free copy now!

The 4-part series in January & February, 2017 was co-led by First Church of Christ and St. Andrew’s Episcopal.  Pastor Marisa, Rev. Derrick Fetz and Rev. Harvey Hill from St. Andrew’s alternated leading the sessions.

The goals of this program were:

  1. To engage us in commitment to Sacred Conversations on Race
  2. To open our eyes to how privilege works to benefit some and oppress others in our country
  3. To engage white allies who want to end racism in examining what white people can/must do to create racial equality
  4. To engage us in understanding that work on white privilege is critical not only to the ultimate goal of ending racism but also for the spiritual healing of all people in our society.
