Have you made your pledge for 2020?
On Consecration Sunday we reached a total of $286,264 toward our goal of $375,000.
Your pledge for 2020 will help us achieve our goal and give us the funds we need to “reach for what matters.”
Send in your pledge card or drop it in the offering plate. OR call (413) 567-6287 or email email@example.com
Following the example of Jesus Christ, we at First Church reach for what matters by reaching out to others. We look for God in each other through Church Without Walls, Habitat for Humanity, interfaith gatherings, prayer circles, the Prayer Shawl Ministry, the Women’s Benevolent Society, the music program, and other ministries. We enjoy each other’s company at Friday Evening Fellowship, Storytelling on the Green, Ice Cream Capers, Saturday Celebrations, and other events. We strive for justice through our Adult Ed, Social Justice Team, and Youth Group. We teach our youngest members how to follow Jesus Christ and we’re there for our adult members when they need help and compassion. We are thankful for friends like you who share your time, talents, and treasure with First Church to make it such an amazing place!
You’ve worked hard to make a living in our world. You’ve also shown that there’s so much more to life than simply making a living. As the saying goes, “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” We are thankful that, through God’s love, we remember what matters, we do what matters, and we give what matters.
In the next few weeks, we’re asking you to pray about how you will “make a life by what you give” this year. Your personal budget is your personal mission statement — please think about how your financial commitment to First Church expresses what matters to you. We invite you to consider “reaching” a bit with your pledge. The financial commitment of our members allows First Church to continue the programs that matter to so many people, jump in when new needs arise, and be there to support you and your family. Sometimes the things that matter most in life require each of us to reach beyond our comfort zone. Often it is in these moments of “reaching” that we receive the greatest joy and rewards.
With thanks to God for you, who are such a blessing to the life of First Church,
First Church of Christ Stewardship Team:
Marieke Burt, Stew Creelman, Shirlee Fassell, Carey Larsen, Rev. Pam McGrath, Wendy Stechmann, Maura Stevens, and John Thomas
